History of mini/Maxi Panelbeaters

In May 1979 Mini Panelbeaters (PTY) Ltd opened our doors to the public for the first time.
Eliso Miranda, a qualified panel beater and spray painter, with a handful of staff set out to repair accident damaged vehicles for the people of a small East Rand town called Springs.

38 years later Eliso Miranda and Mini Panelbeaters are still going strong. They are still at the same address, but the workshop area has grown to cover most of the 5000 m2 property. The name came from the iconic little car that still captures so many hearts. With the company growing steadily from strength to strength the name seemed somewhat inappropriate; it needed to grow with the company and changed many years ago, now trading as mini/Maxi Panelbeaters. Springs has also grown since then, but mini/Maxi Panelbeaters continuously expanded its territory beyond the town’s borders and has many loyal customers, both individuals and big companies, who travel far to have their vehicles repaired at the place they trust.

Consistent Evolution

MINI MAXI

As with most business activities the motor industry has evolved significantly over the years. Motor vehicles have
become extremely complex and running a business no less so. Achieving manufacturer approvals has become a key
to success and mini/Maxi Panelbeaters has many approvals. Maintaining these approvals requires constant
investment in equipment and repair procedures. Manufacturer approval audits are regularly conducted and are
unannounced so everything always needs to be kept at the required level. These audits cover all aspects of the
business from admin to safety, training, equipment, customer satisfaction and more.

Paint has also evolved significantly over the years. As required by leading motor manufactures, mini/Maxi
Panelbeaters uses a waterborne paint system, which has a much smaller impact on the environment. Sikkens is the
paint brand used. Sikkens has an active role in the company, making sure that the paint shop stays up to date with
the latest technology and that the paint shop staff have the correct knowledge to apply the paint to perfection.

Objective

It is an objective of mini/Maxi Panelbeaters not only to keep all the manufactures approvals but also to expand their

most critical objective of all is to continue offering the best service and quality to each and every customer who
